This marathon program undertakes a journey through the fascinating universe of classical song, exploring the intimate relationship between text and music, tracing a panorama of diverse geography, without forgetting Portuguese song. Two composers are, however, central to this recital: Franz Schubert, who revolutionized the Lied by decisively elevating the union between poetry and music, and Gabriel Fauré, who excelled in French Mélodie by combining harmonic sophistication with an intimate and expressive style, but also Hugo Wolf, Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler, and Alexander Zemlinsky. All this will be experienced through the interpretative sensitivity of young singers in training, committed to the direct communication of the sung word.
In collaboration with the Escola Artística de Música do Conservatório Nacional.
*Subject to venue capacity, with prize tickets available at the Teatro Variedades starting 1 hour before the performance.
