Created by Catarina Molder and directed by Carlos Conceição, it features music by several contemporary Portuguese composers, produced by Ópera do Castelo Produções, for the national cultural television channel, RTP2. A visionary project that will bring absolute novelty to the television fiction format and to opera world!

The Man of Dreams
“I have mastered dreams. I dream what I want. I live what I want.”
Filmed version of the opera “The Man of Dreams” by António Chagas Rosa, with the support of the Sintra City Council, premiered in 2022 at the São Luiz Theatre in Lisbon, co-produced by Teatro Viriato and with patronage support from Caixa Cultura, commissioned and produced by Ópera do Castelo, based on the homonymous short story by Mário de Sá-Carneiro. Embodied by soprano Catarina Molder, who also directs, with musical direction by Jan Wierzba and staging by actor and director Miguel Loureiro.
In a timeless café, a man impatiently waits for something. Suddenly, a chameleon-like and disarming being arrives, claiming to have overcome the monotony of life by managing to live everything he dreamed of, taking him on a journey through these new realities. Is this man a projection, a mirage, a dream, or a nightmare?
