Filmed version of opera "The Man of Dreams" by Portuguese composer António Chagas Rosa, premiered in 2022, commissioned and produced by Ópera do Castelo, based on the homonymous tale by modernist poet Mário de Sá-Carneiro, incarnated and directed by soprano Catarina Molder. In a timeless café a man is waiting impatiently for something. A disarming chameleonic person appears affirming of having crossed life’s monotony  by being capable of living dreams, taking him on a journey into these news realities. Is this man a projection, delusion, dream or nightmare?

Portuguese Soprano Catarina Molder and Super Diva bring opera to everyone! Promising an irresistible "adrenaline fuelled" journey to the overwhelming world of opera, Super Diva TV series unveils 13 great operas, their plot, characters and context, highlights from iconic productions, interviews with the major opera artists of our time, opera and other musical genres in opera mix, or the absolute creation of twitter opera - opera from today!

Catarina Molder and Super Diva are coming soon, bringing opera to everyone, even to those who might think of hating it!! After the success of its preceding Portuguese seasons, this innovative format, now in English, promises to take the audience on an "adrenaline fuelled" journey into the overwhelming world of opera – just "open your heart and ears and let the emotion in!"

Written, presented and directed by the Portuguese soprano Catarina Molder and produced by Opera do Castelo Produções, in association with RTP and in co-production with Unitel, Super Diva features great super operas as well as worldwide acclaimed opera guests, including Antonio Pappano, Rolando Villázon, Magdalena Kožená, Gaëlle Arquez, Kristīne Opolais, Sonya Yoncheva, Luca Pisaroni, Fiorenza Cossotto, René Pape, Kasper Holten or Calixto Bieito, who share their vision of the opera world of today, without taboos or prejudices. In addition to this, Super Diva presents an absolute world premiere: TWITTER OPERA, opera of today – short film opera with contemporary plots, thematically related to the operas episode, especially commissioned for this season, reflecting upon present-day life.

Each 50-minute episode covers a super opera, unveiling its plot with an animation, its history and context in the feature OPERA INVESTIGATION, undertaken by the musicologist Rui Vieira Nery, reworking its most emblematic aria with new dramaturgical versions in SUPER ARIA, directed by the Portuguese film director João Vladimiro. Images from acclaimed Unitel’s opera productions showcase the most emblematic moments. Outstanding opera guests in OPERA CONFESSIONS share their experiences and vision on this amazing art form. The human voice and other operatic mysteries are disclosed by Catarina Molder in CONSULTING ROOM! Finally, OPERA MIX – where opera meets other musical genres such as pop, jazz, rock, electronic and fado, reinventing great operatic hits!

Super Diva wants to continue democratising this genre, taking the excitement of opera to a large audience, in a dynamic and striking format.
